Cricket's three formats and favourite tournaments
For cricket fans in Bangladesh, the game is more than entertainment — it is a passion. kasino offers betting across three main formats: T20, ODI and Test.
T20 is the fastest format — each team plays just 20 overs. The pace of the game shifts so quickly that odds move on almost every ball. Popular tournaments like BPL and IPL are played in the T20 format.
ODI is a longer contest — the 50-over battle makes the tactical battle between the two sides clearer. Watching Bangladesh Tigers' performance at the T20 World Cup stage gives you a chance to understand odds better.
Test cricket is a five-day test of patience. The betting markets here are different — you can place bets on innings, sessions or individual days. Because each of the three formats has its own characteristics, it helps to know which markets work best for each.
Football and other sports — how they differ from cricket
Alongside cricket, kasino also offers betting on football, tennis and several other sports. Football matches end within 90 minutes and a draw is a separate result, so the market has three outcomes (win/loss/draw). In limited-overs cricket there is generally no draw, so the market structure is different.

Cricket vs Football Betting
- Cricket has no draw market (limited overs) — football does.
- In cricket, odds change with every over and wicket — in football, with goals.
- Test cricket has innings and session markets — football has half-time markets.
- In cricket, toss and top batsman markets are especially popular.
Popular betting markets — how to bet on each one
Cricket has so many markets that newcomers often get confused. Below, the most commonly used markets are explained in plain language.
Match Winner
The simplest market — pick which of the two teams will win. It is the most commonly played market in T20 and ODI. Choose Team A or Team B and place your bet.
Toss Betting
You can bet on the outcome of the toss before the match starts. Ground and pitch conditions often make the toss an important factor.
Top Batsman
A bet on which batsman in the team will score the most runs. Odds for this market are generally higher.
Total Runs Over/Under
A bet on whether the total runs scored in the whole match or a single innings will be more (over) or fewer (under) than a set number. For example: will a T20 innings produce more than 170 runs?
Multi Bet
You can combine multiple bets at the same time. If all your selections win, the payout is larger — but if even one loses, the entire bet is lost, making this a high-risk market.
Powerplay Score
How many runs will be scored in the first 6 overs — this market focuses entirely on the opening phase of the match. It is especially popular in T20.
Multi bet example: If you place bets on three separate matches at odds of 1.60, 1.70 and 1.90 respectively, the combined odds are 1.60 × 1.70 × 1.90 = 5.17 (approximately). That means a ৳100 bet returns ৳517 — but if even one loses, the full ৳100 is gone.
How to read odds in three formats
Betting odds are written in three ways: decimal, fractional and American. At kasino you can choose the format you prefer. All three express the same information — only the way they are written differs.
| Format | Odds for Team A to win | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Decimal | 2.25 | Total return of ৳2.25 for every ৳1 staked |
| Fractional | 5/4 | Win ৳5 profit for every ৳4 staked |
| American | +125 | ৳125 profit on a ৳100 bet |
All three odds above are actually the same — if you place ৳200 on Team A and win, you get back ৳450 in total (৳250 profit + ৳200 original stake); if you lose, ৳200 is gone.
What odds look like for a favourite team
When a team is considered ahead, their odds are lower. For example, Team B's decimal odds to win might be 1.25 — that is 1/4 in fractional and -400 in American.
In the American format, a minus (-) sign means favourite — -400 means you need to bet ৳400 to win ৳100 profit. A ৳200 bet on Team B returns ৳250 in total if they win (৳50 profit). Low odds mean a low return — but the team is also considered more likely to win.
All types of betting are for entertainment. It is wise to read the responsible gaming rules before placing a bet.
Live betting — odds shift the moment a wicket falls
Live or in-play betting means placing bets while the match is in progress. It is completely different from pre-match betting — here, odds change with every event as it happens.
Say Team A is batting in a T20 match and their score looks good after 10 overs. If two wickets suddenly fall, the odds will shift quickly — Team A's odds to win will rise (because they are now at a slight disadvantage) and Team B's odds will drop. Making a decision at that exact moment is the essence of live betting.
Similarly, if a team's run rate after the powerplay is below expectations, the odds on middle-over markets may become favourable. Keep in mind though — odds in live markets move so fast that rushing into a decision is not a good idea.
Things to know before you start betting
-
Set your budget first: Keep a separate budget for each session and staying within it is the sensible approach. Betting is for entertainment — it should not be thought of as a source of income.
-
Focus on one market: Newcomers do well to start with the match winner market. Placing bets across many markets at once makes them hard to track.
-
Compare odds: Look at the odds across different markets for the same match before deciding. Low odds do not mean safe — they are simply a reflection of probability.
-
Be patient in live betting: It is better not to place large bets on impulse in the middle of a match. Read the situation and make small, considered decisions.
-
Be careful with multi bets: Returns are higher with a multi bet, but one wrong selection and the entire bet is lost. It is better not to include more than two selections when starting out.
